The complete clean out … Can I do it?

I’ve read many finance blogs, and I’ve listened to tons of podcasts on minimalism. But nothing has really stuck.

I’ll go through phases in which I clean out the whole house and donate tons of things to Goodwill, only to let my house fill up with useless items again. And I’ve gone through phases of extreme budgeting and financial focus, only to get a raise and celebrate by upping my lifestyle.

I’m done with the flip-flopping. It’s time to commit!

4 things I gave up for the health of my finances

Anytime you set a goal, you need to have rules in mind to help you achieve that goal. When I set out to tackle my debt, I realized it would take more than just throwing money at it and hoping it would go away.

I decided I should set some rules for this goal to help keep myself accountable and to help pay off the debt faster.

My plan to tackle more than $100,000 of debt

The thought of paying off more than $100,000 is terrifying. I’ve felt squashed by it, even though it’s supposed to be “good debt.” It’s a home loan.

But in my opinion, there’s no such thing as “good debt.” When would anyone ever think it’s good to be in debt?
